The Trusted - Love & Suicide EP
The Trusted is a London-based indie-rock band made up of Dave Batchelor, Dale Holt-Mead, Fin Cunningham, and Tom Cunningham. Their latest EP, Love and Suicide is a collection of songs about raw human emotions like naivety (“The Innocent”) and the pitfalls of arrogance (“Horizontal Mind”). The overall sound makes you feel like the main character in a coming-of-age movie, which is perfect considering the range and depth of emotions that The Trusted explores. In a musical era seemingly dominated by synth and electronic production, the sheer instrumentation of guitars and drums is like a breath of fresh air and Tom Cunningham’s vocals bring the entire sound together.

Nick Kingswell - “There’s No Cure”
Nick Kingswell is an Australian singer/songwriter who moved to London to pursue his dream of becoming a musician. His single “There’s No Cure” which deals with big emotions like regret and that acknowledging past mistakes is a great way of moving on. Production-wise it’s simple, with piano melodies and a drumbeat that carries the song through. Thoughtful lyrics offer a glimpse into Kingswell’s mind, even if some lines are a little cliched. With his gentle acoustic sound, Kingswell’s music is perfect to chill out and relax to (especially on a rainy day).

The Sundancer - One Way Traffic EP
The Sundancer is the project of Paul Brunton, who is a rock singer/songwriter who also dabbles in folk and psychedelia. His latest EP, One Way Traffic was released on October 1 and is a good blend of classic rock elements while still modernizing the sound. Slick electric guitar solos and the vocals give it a vintage feel reminiscent of 70s/80s classic rock. Overall, I really enjoyed listening to One Way Traffic, but I did think that some of the songs were a little repetitive after a while, which also fits the style so it’s not that big of a criticism. Make sure to keep an eye out for their next release A State of Nature set to come out in December 2020.

Me Nd Adam - “Something Better” & “The More I Grow Up”
Me Nd Adam is an electro-alternative duo from Texas comprised of Adam and Vince who have recently released two songs: “Something Better” and “The More I Grow Up.” Right off the bat, I could tell that “Something Better” was building up to a great drop (which it did for the first chorus), so it grabbed your attention right away. Focused on the all-too-familiar feeling of the quarantine hangover, “Something Better” is a dance song that’s sure to have you up on your feet (and hopefully playing in clubs once they open back up). “The More I Grow Up” takes a more mellow turn with an acoustic guitar being the main instrumentation during the first verse. The song builds throughout, yet ending with a stripped back closing line. As a coming of age story, Adam and Vince reflect on what they have learned throughout their lives, leaving listeners with the somber message of: “The more I grow up, the more I get let down.” Follow Me Nd Adam for updates on their new release, American Drip Part I, which is out sometime this fall.
